HELLO CLASS!

class BBQ is in two days time! excited?

so yes. details details.

the pit is booked from 4-10pm.

if you know how to come, i guess you could come really early if you have nothing better to do.

but for those who dont know how to come,

please meet at Tampines MRT at 3.25pm SHARP.

we'll be leaving at 3.40pm SHARP so if you reach later than that then you gotta cab down or something.

the reason for the tight schedule is that.. those who knows how to come or has a straight bus down,

will meet at outside the condo guardhouse at 4pm.

these people can be late, just that it'll make me or alicia walk ALOT to go fetch you from the guardhouse.

also, we need some kind souls to help buy some stuff.

1. SKP PLASTIC BAGS FOR WATERBOMB (thankyou Sanpeng!)
2. any particular drinks you like that's not green tea/ coke, you can buy too!
3. there's only ONE pack of marshmallows, need more? go get!

3E CLASS BBQ would be in a week's time so here's a short update:

in total i have 260$ with me, those who need to pay me on the day itself would be brigitte, jessica, shuen, pingteck and sanpeng. yep. i'll have 310$, which is 5dollars short of the amount we have to pay for the bbq (315$). so i'll be taking that from class fund.

alisa suggested booking the tennis courts if yall want to play. any comments? if yall wanna play i can get alisa to book or something. and, waterbombs! can i put someone in charge of buying the plastic bags. can get them at super cheap prices from SKP.

if yall would like to get extra drinks or marshmallows (the pack includes 48cans of coke, 24cans of green tea and one packet of marshmallows), please tell me beforehand.

ATTENTION ALL 3E MATES.

THIS EMAIL'S REGARDING THE CIP THING...
before i copy past the email here's some details.

so yeah we will do the design kit, walk with the kids and tend games stall during that day.
28TH JULY 2007,SATURDAY. EVERYONE MUS KEEP IT FREE.

anyways we will be doing with 3A... and yes before the walkathon, we each will have pledge cards and the min amt a person has to collect is $50!

okay the email...

hey all,
here's a lil update for those who werent present today (yd, pls forward this to bolong, bowen and alicia...thanks!) and few things to settle.
so we set 2 Service Objectives (SO) today...
for FUND RAISING:
SO - raise funds for TCS.
How Would Success Look Like (HWSLL) - each person raises more than $50.
for KIT:
SO - to help the children (i.e. your clients) learn more about S'pore.
HWSLL - 80% of the children complete the kit and answer the qns correctly.
and my Learning Objective (LO) for you is to build unity within the class.
HWSLL? each member of the class is able to understand 5 new things about 5 friends/classmates (within the class as you are preparing for this project).
5 new things about your friends includes learning smth new about your friend's working style, characteristic, fav food, pet peeve and such... it's more than just knowing for knowing's sake. it's about building a stronger bond, a stronger friendship/relationship among yourselves! =) the foundation of a successful team boils down to having a great r/s with your team members!
i'd require all of you to translate the SOLOs to ALL your classmates so that everyone can have a common goal to work towards to. like i promised those who went for recce today, these are the four values of teamwork -
  1. team success leads to individual success
  2. team success requires each to play their role with excellence
  3. team success requires giving up of personal space and comfort
  4. team success is built on trust
one more thing, i'd like both classes to set another LO & HWSLL for yourselves. do discuss among your classmates and let me know when we meet! (those who went for CLASS should still have their notes, do refer to them!)
okay, to the main point!
3A & 3E are gg to collaborate to design a kit for the clients, everyone who's involved in the project will each receive a pledge card (yes cally, you can have more if you want to. just let me know!) to raise funds for TCS (wld strongly encourage you to go www.tcs.com.sg to read up more about the organisation to understand better) and lastly, manning the carnival booths at the end of the walk.
hannah and zhengkai, pls do communicate among yourselves and delegate the research topics to the rest. i know hannah wrote a fair bit of stuff in her notebook (just a tiny bit more...heh), so rem to let the rest know! i encourage those who are researching to go the extra mile and do an extensive research, it nv hurts to know more! you can learn more as you go too! =) get relevant pictures and whatnots.
yuhding and sanpeng, you are in charge of designing the kits. jia you! =) yd, i noe you mentioned about some pictures...do pass to the rest eh? if need be, draw on A6 (quarter of A4) to get a better picture.
for those who couldnt make it today, dun worry. your friends will call you soon and tell you wad to do!

before we meet, you should have COMPLETED
  1. your research and list down as many fun facts/quiz qns as possible,
  2. a rough layout of the kit design (for EVERY PAGE),
  3. and an estimated budget needed for everything. if you wanna buy some sweets for them, pls include those in too.
  4. your LO and HWSLL for each class (3A & 3E)
hopefully we are able to tie down as much loose ends as possible so as to let zk compile & prepare the proposal...and you guys can also prepare the presentation to lily. i know time is really tight and you have truckloads of assignment but let's work hard tog yah? i'll also try to do some research on my end, email you once i find any interesting info. deadline for proposal is 30th june, so let's jia you!

just a short update on class CIP,

we'll be designing a kit for a group of primary school kids, (and when i say a group, it's a group of maybe 500?) haha. exact amount can be higher or lower. touch community havent approached any schools cause they need our proposal first.

eh, we will be designing the booklet for the pri sch kids, and we're also gonna complete the walkathon with them (as a guide + their teachers), the walk is around 6km. after the walk, there will be a carnival at the padang (the start/end of walkathon), and we'll be mending around 2 gamestalls?

each of us will also be given a pledge card (compulsory) for a month to raise funds for touch community. they aim to raise $600,000 this year.

date of walkathon: 28july, saturday
time: 0700 - 1200 (the carnival will end at around 1400) i think we have to cleanup also.

so yup, yuhding and this worker from touch will be doing a recce of the walkathon route on friday (i think? or saturday. ask him.) to decide on the information we'll put into the booklet for the kids to read/do along the walk. maybe a few who might be free can go too? we need to finish up the proposal by end of june. comm members will be in charge. extra volunteers are welcome. :D

the touch community person-in-charge of this walkathon will come and brief us about touch and more about the walkathon after the proposal and details are finalised.

this cip = no. of hours designing the kit (decided by teacher) + 2-3hrs (the walk itself) + 2hrs (pledge card) + carnival hours?

im not sure because as for the number of hours, it's up to the teachers to decide. but this was the suggested amount of hours.

thankyou bolong for that update :D

anyway, who wants to change the blogskin to bolong's creation? cos seems that some people liked it too.. so if wanna change just tell bolong the user and pass (since he cant remember it) then he change lor.

also, the BBQ on the 23rd June. shu en cant come. anyone else cannot come please tell early. and if you want to claim the money back, we'll be short of funds! so thankyou shuen for donating your ten bucks to us cos she's not claiming back.
